The main appeal hearing is over and SSPG presented our case, alongside Swindon borough Council on 7th and 8th September. Paul Griffiths for the Planning Inspectorate, followed the closing statements with two visits to locations referred to in the enquiry: Wanborough, Ridgeway and environs; independently on 16th September, and then accompanied on the 17th. Friday 2nd July brought a conclusion to stage one of Wasdell’s Inlands Farm planning Appeal hearing, led by Paul Griffiths of the Planning Inspectorate.
It was an end to an intensive 3 weeks, with presentations of evidence and cross examination by the 3 parties to the Appeal: Swindon Borough Council led by their QC Paul Stinchcome, John Moe as advocate on behalf of SSPG, and Wasdell Properties Ltd as the appellant led by Neil Cameron QC.

The South Swindon Protection Group has this week submitted its outline case for the upcoming Inlands Farm appeal to the Planning Inspector under “Rule 6” representation. This mean the SSPG will be a full participant in the Appeal, able to present and cross examine witnesses.
The appeal dates are set. There will be a VIRTUAL public enquiry by the Planning Inspectorate that runs from the 15th June for 3 weeks. The appeal will consider the economic benefits of the speculative development and balance them against the harm to our rural life, impact on the environment and the AONB and consequential urbanisation of South Swindon.
